Does The Amber Teething Necklace Comfort Your Child? ( Momimhar posted on January 25th, 2016 )

Baltic Teething Beads Necklace For Infants

Baltic Amber Teething Necklace For Infants

I wish I learned about this Baltic Amber Teething Necklace five years ago. I just found out about it when one of my friends who had a new baby few months ago bought one of these for her little girl.  It says it soothes an infant’s teething discomfort just by wearing the necklace or wearing it as a bracelet.  The natural succinic acid contained on the amber helps sooth the discomfort of teething.  But how?

I thought the baby has to stick the necklace in the mouth like the other teethers to sooth the swelling gums, but NO.  Silly me.  It doesn’t work like that.  The amber works wonders, I think.  Any how, this is an ideal gift for Christening and souvenir, too.

Remember that using this product should be under adult supervision.  Never let baby sleep with this necklace on.

How about you?  Did you or someone you know have used or are using Baltic Amber Teething Necklace for their teething babies?

Baby Proofing Your Home: Simple Tricks You Can Do Today ( Momimhar posted on January 12th, 2016 )

a-baby hands

Your home may seem safe to you, but it is likely a dangerous place for babies. That is why baby proofing is an important step that parents of all experience should take. Unfortunately, some people don’t get their home ready for a baby because they think it takes too much time and money. This just simply isn’t true. In fact, below are a few simple tricks that you can do today to baby proof your home.

Invest in Finger Shields

Finger shield safety products are these nifty little devices that help prevent a child from getting their fingers pinched or shut in the door. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to install, which means there is really no reason not to have them on all doors in your home.

Use Wash Cloths

That’s right, I said wash cloths. These versatile pieces of fabric are not only for keeping clean, they can help keep doors closed while still allowing babies to turn the door knob. All you have to do is, while closing the door, position a wash cloth between the door frame and the door. Make sure it is on the same side that the door handle is on. You should be able to fully close the door while the wash cloth stays in position. You should test the door a few times by turning the handle and trying to open the door. When you want to open the door, simply pinch the wash cloth tight while you open the door.

Prevent Doors from Slamming Shut

You can easily and quickly use a bit of masking tape and an old towel to keep doors from slamming shut. While this method may not be the most eye pleasing, it is a great alternative for parents on a budget. To start, you will need to position a towel at the top of the door. The towel should be closer to the side with the hinges. You want the door to close most of the way while still staying ajar enough so that fingers cannot be squashed. If you notice that the door is staying open too wide, simply move the towel located at the top of the door further along. You can also cut the towel as needed if it hangs down too low.  Secure the towels corner to the door by adding a bit of masking tape.

Sounds very clever, isn’t it? Baby-proofing made easy and worry-free, yes?

Tips To Get Rid Of Common Colds ( Momimhar posted on June 4th, 2015 )

Orange juice is rich in Vitamin C.

Orange juice is rich in Vitamin C.

My darling daughter K has the sniffles.  She actually ran a fever last Friday evening that made us miss the Bible Study.  The fever quickly occurred.  She was sneezing and feeling tired Friday afternoon and that night her body temperature rose suddenly.  I didn’t sleep very well because I was monitoring her temperature.  Gladly there’s a fever and pain reliever in our cabinet.  There was a birthday invitation the next day but we didn’t go because DD was not feeling well.

On Sunday, K was feeling a little lively so we were able to attend another birthday party held on that day.  The sky cleared up which is very nice because it was raining these past two weeks already.  It was sunny and breezy.  K had a wonderful time playing with her friends.

As a parent, we worry a lot when our children gets sick.  Common colds and cough cannot be avoided because we can catch them whether we like it or not.  To get rid of it and to keep it from getting worse, an effective cold medicine and home remedies should be taken.

Home Remedies

Honey Lemon Tea – Hot water, lemon juice, honey, tea (drink every night to sooth the throat and help loosen the mucus)

Orange Juice – Drink one cup of orange daily

Warm Bath – Take a quick warm bath before bedtime to feel fresh (except if running a fever)

Sponge Bath – If you are not feeling well to take a warm bath, a sponge bath will do.  Wet a hand towel with warm water and wipe all over the body.

In addition the above mentioned home remedies, eating more fruits, vegetables, drinking more water everyday, and plenty of rest can help get rid of sickness completely.

Medicine

Cold and Cough – You can buy medicine for cough and colds over the counter.  Always follow the dosage on stated on the label.

Nasal Spray – Nasal sprays are great to sooth the nasal passages.  Nasal passages can get swollen from sneezing and blowing the nose.  Nasal sprays can help moisturize and sooth them.

As of today, my darling daughter is back to her active self.  Though there still coughing here and there but she is getting better and better.  She’s healthy so sickness doesn’t stay long.
